VSHP is accepting speaker proposals for pearl presentations (10 minutes) during the Clinical Pearl Session on Saturday, November 5 from 130p-230p.

Call for Webinar Presenters

VSHP is planning our CE webinar series for 2022 and 2023 and we're looking for pharmacists who would like to participate as webinar CE presenters. Honorarium of $100 available.

Presentations can be on a variety topics and are welcome to give presentations that you may have already presented in another venue. This is a great way to become more involved in VSHP and a great opportunity to share your work with colleagues around the state.

Interested in presenting a Poster at the 2022 VSHP Fall Seminar in Williamsburg, VA, Saturday, November 5, 2022

• The deadline for all abstract submission is Friday, October 21, 2022.

• All submissions must have results at the time of submission.  The ASHP Midyear Clinical Meeting Student Poster Submission Rules and Format Guidelines offer formatting suggestions.

• IMPORTANT: The Primary Author must be the person submitting the abstract. Primary Authors can only submit ONE abstract, however, a primary author can be an additional author on other abstracts. Submitting an abstract on behalf of someone else is prohibited.

• Poster session is Saturday, November 5, 2022 from 1230p-130p

• Questions and poster submissions should be emailed to contact@vshp.org

VSHP Grants Program Update

In 2021, the VSHP Grants team evaluated several requests for grants and funded two of them. One of the projects which was funded provides intranasal naloxone to patients who are admitted to the UVA ED for opioid overdose, or who have a history of opioid use disorder. Although naloxone can be purchased at pharmacies, the project’s goal is to remove as many barriers as possible, and get the naloxone into the hands of the high - risk patients who would benefit from it. Providing education to the recipients is another part of the program.

As of April 2022, the program is active. The photos show ED physician education on the program, and also some of the naloxone provided by VSHP’s funding.
