Pharmacy Legislative Day
We are excited to partner with the Virginia Pharmacy Association as a host of the annual Pharmacy Legislative Day on Wednesday, January 22, 2025! Because of this partnership, members of VSHP are invited to register for this event at the $25 member rate! Take note the event will be at a different location, if you attended last year. VPhA has moved the event to the VCU Biotech Center at 800 E Leigh Street, Richmond, VA 23298 to accommodate more attendees and shorten the walk to the GA Building.
The last day to register is Friday, January 17, 2025, OR until occupancy is reached!

VPhA is not offering a hotel room block this year due to low interest. Please seek out your own accommodations if you are travelling to attend.

Please plan to join us for the Commonwealth Leadership Forum on Thursday, October 17, 2024 at Kingsmill Resort in Williamsburg, VA. The Leadership Forum will take place immediately before the VSHP Fall Seminar, October 18-19 also at Kingsmill.
The purpose of the Forum is to:
The Virginia Society of Health System Pharmacists (VSHP) wants to be your Professional Home. Contemporary Pharmacy Practice Management is becoming increasingly challenging and we have an opportunity to unite and create a professional network that can help us advance practice in the Commonwealth.
You are invited to attend the VSHP Leaders' Forum held as we believe your contribution will be valuable. You may also bring one member of your team with you (can be a resident, formal or informal leader in any level of the profession). If you cannot attend, we would appreciate you considering allowing at least one member of your staff, in a leadership capacity, to attend. VSHP will be covering all planned meal functions. We ask that you be responsible for your own travel and lodging expenses.

One of our VSHP members has submitted a petition to the BOP to reclassify Kratom as a Schedule I substance. Public comments can be made here: https://townhall.virginia.gov/L/Comments.cfm?petitionid=409 and closes on 6/5/24 at midnight.
Attached are our comments that we submitted to the BOP as well as the original petition itself.
We are asking you to comment via the link above to the BOP in support of the petition to reclassify kratom as a schedule I substance. The Kratom lobby has rallied against this so we are trying to ensure our voices as health care professionals are not drowned out.
