Objectives for Pharmacists:

       Explain the pathophysiology of Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD) in patients with Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus (T2DM).

       Employ appropriate therapeutic plans to prevent CKD progression in T2DM.

       Apply appropriate monitoring strategies for patients receiving finerenone therapy.

       Evaluate lifestyle modifications recommended by the KDIGO guidelines for preventing the progression of CKD.

       Recognize the trials that support the use of Sodium-glucose cotransporter 2 inhibitors (SGLT2 inhibitors) and Mineralocorticoid Receptor Antagonists (MRAs) in patients with T2DM and CKD.

Objectives for Pharmacy Technicians:

       Discuss the pathophysiology of Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD) in patients with Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus (T2DM).

       List appropriate therapeutic plans to prevent CKD progression in T2DM.

       Recite appropriate monitoring strategies for patients receiving finerenone therapy.

       Evaluate lifestyle modifications recommended by the KDIGO guidelines for preventing the progression of CKD.
