Presentation Objectives for Pharmacists:

• 1.       Compare the different types of barrier and emergency contraception, including OTC and prescription options
• 2.       Contrast the differences of hormonal oral contraceptives (COCs) and non-oral hormonal contraceptives (CHC)
• 3.       Recommend a patient-specific selection of appropriate non-hormonal and hormonal contraception
• 4.       Discuss patient counseling to maximize efficacy and ensure patient adherence
• 5.       Describe Virginia’s Statewide Protocol for pharmacist-prescribed contraception
