Presentation Objectives for Pharmacists:

• 1.      Describe the pathophysiology of animal bites.
• 2.      Identify the common microbes associated with bite wounds.
• 3.      Categorize appropriate antibiotics for bite wound prophylaxis.
• 4.      Assess appropriate treatment approaches for infected bite wounds.
• 5.      Develop a treatment and monitoring plan for an infected bite wound.
