Presentation Objectives for Pharmacists:

  • ·         Discuss the proposed pathophysiology of how COVID-19 promotes a hypercoagulable state
  • ·         Explain the published clinical pharmacological evidence regarding the use of D-dimer to stratify thrombotic risk in patients with COVID-19
  • ·         Compare and contrast anticoagulation strategies in COVID-19 based on published clinical evidence and expert opinion
  • ·         Apply primary literature, guideline recommendations, and clinical considerations to develop an evidence-based method of anticoagulating patients with COVID-19
