Objectives for Pharmacists

1.       Discuss and summarize the requirements for pharmacists to vaccinate children as outlined in the HHS' third amendment to the PREP Act.

2.       Examine and streamline pediatric immunization recommendations and catch-up schedules endorsed by the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) and Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices (ACIP).

3.       Apply pediatric immunization recommendations, including indications, frequency, and administration, to example patient cases.

Virginia Society of Health-System Pharmacists is on probation by the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE) as a provider of continuing pharmacy education. Participants of the session who complete the evaluation and provide accurate NABP e-Profile information will have their credit for 2 contact hours (0.2 CEU) submitted to CPE Monitor as early as 1 day after the event and no later than 60 days after the event.  The participant is accountable for verifying the accurate posting of CE credit to their CPE Monitor account within 60 days.
